VITA: Volunteer Income Tax
Assistance
THE PROBLEM:
Between $3 and $4 million of the
Earned Income Tax Credit goes unclaimed by low-moderate
income families every year in Spartanburg County.
WHAT UFRC AND OTHER AGENCIES
ARE DOING:
United Way and several community
partners provide the Volunteer Tax Assistance Initiative
(VITA) each year. Since its inception in 2004, we have
prepared over 2,200 tax returns and brought back
$1.65 million in refunds and credits to individuals
in our community.
Call United Way of the
Piedmont at 864-582-7556 ext 142 for eligibility
requirements and to make an appointment.

You need to shop anyway,
Why not support UFRC at the same time!!!!!
It is SO simple! Just click
the link below!
1. Visit
www.charityshopper.com
before making online purchases.
2. Select Upstate Family Resource Center as
beneficiary.
3. Select any participating merchant banner in the
CharityShopper Mall to visit the merchant directly.
THAT'S IT! No hassles and no extra cost. Just purchase
the item as you would normally. Our CharityShopper
links will capture a merchant-funded rebate.
You
will pay the same price as you would have if you
visited the merchant directly,
so why wouldn't you want to support UFRC?
