Instructions for Parent Portal

Parents may now access information via the Internet about their child's school work, to include attendance and grades, by logging on to http://pschool.spartanburg2.k12.sc.us .  Parents can only view information, not enter or change any information.  As you view the information about your child, you will see some items such as the number of days absent or the teacher's name in blue.  By "clicking on" anything in blue, you will be taken to a new screen that gives you more detailed information about that particular item.  When you log into Power School with your Parent ID and Password, the first screen that will appear will have several icons at the top.  As you navigate the screens in Power School, please do so only by clicking on the icons.  Using the blue back button at the top left hand of the screen or the "x" at the top right will probably cause you to exit the program.  Please be sure to logout when you are finished.

Grades and Attendance- The first screen you will see contains current information about your child's grades and attendance. If you access other screens you may return to this one by "clicking" this icon.

Grades History - This icon will show previous courses taken and grades earned in those courses.

Attendance History - Clicking on this icon will give you a screen that shows your child's attendance day by day since the beginning of this school year.

Email Notification - This icon will give you a screen where you may request e-mailed reports be sent to you on a regular basis.

Teacher Comments - This icon will give you a screen that shows each class that your child currently has.  Any current teacher comments for that class will be displayed.  The teacher's name will be in blue.  Clicking on the teacher's name will take you to an e-mail screen so that you can send an e-mail to the teacher.

School Bulletin - Clicking on this icon will display the School Bulletin for yesterday, today and tomorrow.

Class Registration - We do not plan to use online registration this year.

Balance - Our district will continue with the current method of notifying parents about lunch balances.  A few of our schools are entering other balances here such as lost book fees.  If the school has entered for information in Power School, it will be displayed here.

My Calendars - Currently, schools are not using the My Calendars icon.
