Dear Parent and Student:
The Boiling Springs Middle School Student Discipline Policy is in your Student Handbook. Please read the entire Handbook in addition to the Discipline Policy, and sign the form on the bottom of this page signifying that you understand all the material included.
Please don’t be overwhelmed by the size of this policy. Most of our students are very well behaved. The discipline problems that we do have usually are of the minor variety. However, we want to have “all the bases covered” in case we do have some serious problems. We hope that school will be a more pleasant place for our students because of this discipline plan.
Discipline isn’t just a series of rules and consequences. We also try to reward students in a variety of ways for having good behavior. We all know that the best kind of discipline is self-discipline. We hope that knowing what is expected of them will help our students to develop or increase their self-discipline.
Every student is expected to read and understand their student handbook and to follow all school rules and regulations.
I have read and I understand the policies outlined in the Boiling Springs Middle School Handbook and Discipline Policy.

2006-2007 STUDENT DISCIPLINE POLICY
In order to maintain a “school climate” in which the youth of our school can live, learn, and flourish, it is vitally necessary for all students to assume responsibility for their behavior while enrolled in Boiling Springs Intermediate School. Therefore, in order to aid students in making appropriate decisions governing their behavior, this Discipline Policy has been established. While the examples are not intended to be all inclusive, they are illustrative of the types of behavior that are inconsistent with the proper maintenance and function of an effective program in our school. Also, equal or lesser punishment may be substituted due to availability of punishment.
